Meet the Team

Born and raised in New Zealand, Joel’s first taste of Owners Corporation management started over a decade ago. After working as an assistant manager in a boutique management company, Joel took up the challenge in a management role with one of Australia’s largest strata management companies.

Joel progressed from managing small residential developments, into medium and large buildings around Melbourne. He has assisted the likes of Lendlease to on-board large-scale developments, and more recently finished a two-year management role of a 12,000-lot business. Throughout his career, Joel has shaped his management style to focus on clients and their building priorities to achieve desired results.

In 2020, Joel set out to create a business in a city he loves with an incredibly talented group of people. Horizon Strata was created to specialise in providing boutique style management that is competent and transparent. The focus behind Joel’s management style is to interact and communicate with clients at every step. His commitment to reviewing the detail and assisting committee’s with making the hard decisions is why he is regarded as one of the industries more competent and balanced managers.

Lyndall’s experience in the Strata Industry spans almost 20 years. In that time, she has enjoyed the role of department head of Owners Corporation, trainer, and mentor of staff. Lyndall has provided Business development services to employers and has assisted property developers with the establishment of new owners’ corporations and all legislative requirements.

As a Senior Owners Corporation Manager, she has managed a diverse range of properties from residential to commercial of all sizes and types. Included are townhouse developments, large residential estates, and some of the most iconic apartment buildings in Melbourne. Lyndall enjoys the challenges of Strata management and the diverse nature of the role, including the interactions with clients from all walks of life. She believes that strong management skills and careful financial planning are the backbone of well managed properties, however, our focus should be to create cohesive, safe, friendly communities for residents to call home. In creating a sense of community, she assists residents in developing a sense of ownership and pride in their buildings.

Colin is a Chartered Accountant with more than 40 years’ experience in providing business advice to clients. Colin has provided audit and management services to Commercial Owners Corporations as well as serving on and chairing Residential Owners Corporation Committees over several years.

Colin joined the team at Horizon to help build a company that ensures a transparent financial structure is provided to our clients. He is responsible for all financial matters including completing our signature 7-point Owners Corporation Health Check. Colin brings a comprehensive business management background which benefits your Owners Corporation in a number of key areas, including budget and reporting accuracy, negotiating with suppliers and assessing major items such as electricity contracts and insurance coverage.

A passionate, energetic and highly dedicated team player, Shannon joined Horizon in late 2020 following an expansive career across the Sports & Event Management industries.

Shannon brought with her skills in stakeholder management, communication, teamwork and leadership. Shannon never leaves anything to chance and instead, operates always, with procedure at the forefront. Her passion for processes and key eye for attention to detail paired with her curious approach to problem solving has made her an integral and diverse member of Horizon’s Administration Team, as Office Manager.

Shannon’s time at Horizon Strata has allowed her to continue to build on her management and operational expertise, whilst also enjoying the challenges and vast new learnings that has come with joining the world of Owners Corporation Management. Shannon looks forward to continuing to service all Owners and Client’s with a caring and supportive Customer Service approach.

Jessica is an experienced auditor who transitioned to a career in accounting with a passion for property management. With a commitment to accuracy and a keen eye for detail, Jessica manages the financial affairs of the company’s property financial portfolio, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.

In addition to the properties’ financial responsibilities, she also works closely with the Financial Director in analysing financial data, developing budgets and providing financial reports for Committee’s. Jessica also brings valuable insight and recommendations for strategic decision- making, ensuring that financial information is accurate and up- to- date for Horizon’s clients.

Ruby joined Horizon with a vision to service clients beyond the current industry standard. She has worked in client service and assistant management roles in the past 3 years, supporting medium and large buildings throughout Melbourne.

More recently, Ruby has settled into an Assistant role within Horizon, supporting various Managers with management of properties. She is dedicated to providing a premium service to clients at Horizon Strata through her systematic management of ongoing projects and issues for owners. Ruby also provides assistance with preparation of AGM notices, insurance renewals and claims, maintenance management and contract procurement for all Owners Corporations.
